Eric L. Johnson (Ph.D.) is Professor of Christian Psychology at Houston Christian University and has taught psychology and counseling for over 30 years. He has written over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles or chapters and collaborated with Joshua Knabb on Christian Psychotherapy in Context. In addition, Eric wrote Foundations for Soul Care: A Christian Psychology Proposal and God and Soul Care: The Therapeutic Resources of the Christian Faith, which lay out a framework for Christ-centered therapy, and he’s currently working with Michael Strating (Ph.D.) on Carditive Therapy, a Christ-centered model of therapy that incorporates numerous evidence-based strategies. He founded the Society for Christian Psychology, a division of the American Association of ChristianCounseling. In addition, he’s done pastoral counseling for 25 years and is currently helping with soulcare at his church in Louisville, KY. He’s married to Rebekah, and has two children and three grandchildren, all of whom he treasures – and he loves to hike and ride bike.
